Who I am
I'm Edson, an architect from Curitiba, Brazil. Wood called to me for 30 years. In 2014, I answered. I left the office and went to learn. Brazil, United States, Europe. Techniques, materials, mistakes, discoveries.
In 2020, PraSer Objetos was born.
What I do
I take wood that was once something else—a roof, a door, a fallen branch—and transform it into objects that didn't exist before.
No molds. No catalog. Each piece is a decision made by hand.
How I work
I look. I test. I err. I correct. I let the wood speak. Sometimes it says yes, sometimes no. I listen.
I use carving, turning, burning, inlay. In the end, just natural oil and wax. No plastic. No chemicals.
Why PraSer Objetos exists
To make objects that aren't "beautiful" in a void. They are true. They have weight, texture, imperfections. And someone chooses them because they feel they were made for them.
The rest
I use reclaimed wood. I buy other materials from small local producers. My packaging is plastic-free. I participate in a Curitiba City Hall project reusing fallen trees. I have exhibited at design and craft fairs, been nominated for awards, and invited to international exhibitions.
My store
Jewelry, decor, sculptures. It might not seem like it, but it's always the same intention, the same hand, the same gaze. The same wood that was once a tree and today is an earring, a vase, or a shape that has no name.
Only when ready do I separate my creations into categories. I separate by feeling. There are pieces to wear on the body. There are pieces to contemplate. There are pieces you just want to hold.
All came from the same place: from my workbench, my tools, my desire to make something that doesn't exist in any store.
